ABFPRS Expands Relationship with New Website and Application Build

ABFPRS Logo The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons has approved a large project with FatLab Web Support.

FatLab will be rebuilding the main abfprs.org website which is over 10 years old at this time. The focus will be to modernize it and bring it up to modern standards for ease of day-to-day administration and use by its membership.

The ABFPRS is a medical certification board and therefore works with a large number of plastic surgeons all over the world. From providing general information, online practice exams via a custom web application, organizing real-world board certification exams and coordinating of maintenance of such certification both online and in-person.

In addition to their role as a certification board, they also provide industry-specific information to their membership and have a forward-facing physician search that allows hospitals, clinics, surgical centers, and maybe most importantly patients the ability to confirm any physician’s certification status.

In our efforts over the next few months, we will be rebuilding the surgical board practice examination into a separate app, much as we did for the maintenance of the certification exam (FaceForward), that I presented to the board in 2019. FaceForward completed its first year of official use in 2021 and was a great success.

This rebuild will allow us to focus on providing public information, a certified physician search, a secure members-only area, and e-commerce functions to collect and manage dues, among limited physical products such as framed certificates, etc.

ABFPRS has been a client for over a decade and we look forward to modernizing this application and seeing what we can do to grow its online footprint and usefulness to its membership.
